Being able to set region code in LG BD550 blu ray player

Hi,

Am writing from India. I recently purchased an LG BD550 blu ray player as a combo deal with a Yamaha YHT 294. Both work great except for the region code problem with the BD550. I am unable to play many of my DVDs because I am now in Region 5. Similarly I was unable to play some of the DVDs got from lending libraries such as the British Council.

I tried out the hacks in some of the prior posts on making the BD550 region free such as [Open player, Pause, etc.] but none of them work.

Any tested solutions for this model?

The only solution for BD550 is this. A TTL converter and probably some soldering will be required.
