  1. hey all.

ive started to have troubles with my burnt backups, when i play them i get stutters and pauses which i never had before until now. i have a year old PC and Pioneer a07 burner. everything in my pc is pretty much top of the line at that time. ive been ripping with dvd decrypter and using cloneDVD 2 ever since i got my PC a year ago. every backup has been perfect, until now. i use my xbox or ps2 to play dvds which always played flawlessly. i thought it was the ritek g05 which i just started to use but i re burnt it using my old prodisc media and still had minor pauses. the old prodisc i have always played perfectly on both xbox and ps2. ive burnt so many times, i also re watched all the backups and still stutters and pauses.

im just wondering if its my pioneer a07. its just a year old and wondering if the burner is the problem. is it time to get a new one? u mite say its media but the old prodisc i have alwasy played perfect but now stutters and pauses just like the go5.

    thanks

  2. Hello there!

I would first recommend trying good quality media, such as Taiyo Yuden, to be sure that it isn't the media. Check out www.nomorecoasters.com for good quality media.

From personal experience I can say that it may be the burner. I had a Pioneer 105 for about a year and after moderate use it gave up and bought the farm. It worked fanatastic until that fateful night when I got endless 'power calibration errors'. After that it never worked again.

Hopefully it's just the media in your case.

If you haven't tried a firmware update, that may help also. Check www.rpc1.com for firmware updates.

    Good luck!
