Different sampling rates when Joining Two AVI files

Hi ppls

me have a problem here when joining 2 movie avi file together...it show audio streams have Different sampling rates.


How can i solve this.??? can the file be merge due to the error ???
any guide to follow ???

Ummmm, why don't you tell us what software you're using, and what's your final format..

hmm..virtualDub ...converting avi to dvd..But me wanted to join the 2 avi file to one first..



heard it might be easier to convert to mpeg then merge them togther ? any comments on tat ?

Less troubles that way. You actually can "merge" them at the authoring stage. Leave them as separate mpegs and author so that they play one after the other.

if i leave them as seperate mpeg. does tat mean when playing..after the first mpeg it will stop n go to selection page ? or will it auto play the next track ?

You can select that when you author. If you add them to the same track they will play one after the other.

No doubt, ZippyP. is correct..

But as to your original post, Vdub requires exact same framerates, codecs, and samplerates to join two .AVI's together...

Your other option would be to get one of the .AVI's, and Recompress and Convert samplerate, and bring it back in..
Once you've got this reconverted .AVI, you shouldn't have a problem joining the second .AVI..

Yes, but authoring this way would it make it impossible to fast-rewind from title 2 to title 1?

Good point. You could try converting the audio in each avi to wav first, then joining after. To convert the audio load into Virtualdub, set the audio to full processing, set the video to direct stream copy then save avi.
