  1. This is the way I have been burning my VCDs for quite some time now and I am wondering if there has been any major advances which would make my task a little bit easier? Any insight would be appriciated.

    1) Download bin/cue files.
    2) Convert bin files with GNU vcdtoolsX 1.1 using vcdXrip.
    3) Convert resulting mpeg/xml file with GNU vcdtools using vcdXbuild.
    4) Burn resulting img files with Toast 5.2 using Multimedia CD-Rom XA

Here is what I am wondering. Is there a way to go from the bin/cue files directly to the img files? Is there a way to burn the bin/cue files directly with Toast? Everytime I have tried that I never get a playable VCD.

    Thanks.

I was able to burn the .bin files under Toast before and it worked, but skipped a little. So I used Missing Media Burner to burn the .cue file and it worked even better. The last time I made one I Used Missing MPEG Tools to create a .xml file for my mpeg. And burned using MIssing Media Burner. It just seems to work much better than Toast.....

  3. You're probably talking about SVCD's since you mentioned Multi-track XA mode.

There's a certain .iso-file you can use, drop that in Toast's Multi-track XA mode and then drop the .bin-file. Burn. You now have a SVCD with chapters(!).

    That's the easiest way.

(Thread will probably be closed if I say something more about the .iso-file, moderators don't want us to say too much)

I find missing media burner to work nicely for direct .cue/.bin to CD.

NO coversion needed, just select your .cue linked to the first .bin, burn and watch

repeat for the 2nd .cue linked to the 2nd .bin

and so on for how ever many there are.

What's wrong with the easy way of dropping the .bin file onto toast in VCD mode?

    Always works great for me...

VCD's yes. SVCD's no. Except with the .iso-file workaround.
