supposed to do mpg2

there support sucks and i have given up on that

can someone here tell me how to capture the best with this card and what to use to edit out the commercials in the resulting mpg file..

also what would be the best settings for virtual dub

hope someone else out there has this card

thinking about an ati8500 all in wonder as a replacement, any thoughts on that

Hi

First of all I can't help with editing as I dont need to.

I have the same card.
I use PowerVCR2 and capture Mpeg2 at 720 x 576 (pal) bitrate 8000.
I get superb results.
Make sure you connect by composite/phono for best results.

I can capture to DVD mpeg2(6000kb/s and 224kb/s @ 48000hz-720x576) with the built in software and import to DVDMovieFactory to edit and burn dvd or svcd. I have used Power vcr2 with good results but my version is incompatible with XP. Coupled with my trusty GeForce2MX I dont feel the need to upgrade.I am currently capturing my old VHS to DVD with great results.
