Ok. I rebuilt the PAL engine (again) by PAL-a-fying the NTSC engine (like I did before) since the NTSC one doesn't seem to have this mysterious problem.
I will let you all know in the AM if in fact my fine Polish Flick, Pan Tadeusz (Polish audio, english subs enabled) actually runs end-to-end like it always seemed to in testing.
I am making a VCD, as my TiBook is *much too pokey* to do anything else in a reasonable amount of time.
If it works, then as far as I'm concerned its fixed, and will be released as 1.5.2

Well, well, well.
Here's what I got.
No hanging at the audio stage. Multiplexed just fine.
It didn't split to final files however. I'll try to figure out why this is, but it will take awhile...my machine is but so fast.
