NYC is closed, both towers of the world trade center are gone, all bridges and tunnels to and from NYC are closed. They believe one plane was a 767 and the other was a dc10. One plane was from Boston to L.A. was hyjacked and it was one of the planes crashed into one tower. The Pentagon was crashed into plane/hellicopter, don't know. One jet hit the world trade center dead center the other jet hit the corner of the other tower. I heard (dont know for sure) about 50000 people in each tower. Here in NJ I live about 15 miles away and all you can see is smoke!! Anoter plane crashed in PA.(747). I will report more as I hear.

This is ridiculous. These bastards really deserve some hardcore capital punishment when they are caught... Who in their right mind would hijack 4 planes and fly them into buildings? That's just insane!

They completely obliterated the twin towers and tried to get the pentagon.... Then the 4th plane got crashed into a field in Pennsylvania... smart man the pilot was. Good call... he'd rather crash the plane in the middle of a field instead of listening to those freaks and flying it into a building.

The 2 planes that hit were hijacked American Airlines planes carying about 160 people. The plane that crashed in PA was a united 747 and they don't know if it was from newark or chicago.

• The Pentagon, the White House, the State Department, the Justice Department, the Capitol, the CIA and all other government buildings in Washington evacuated.

• President Bush cancelled an appearance in Florida to return to Washington, calling the crashes "apparent terrorist attacks" and "a national tragedy."

• In the first ever national ground stop of aircraft, all flights nationwide have been stopped at their departure airports.

• All international flights were diverted to Canada.

• Mullah Abdul Salam Zaeef, the Taliban ambassador to Pakistan, said in reaction to the news of the terror attacks that "we want to tell the American children that Afghanistan feels your pain and we hope that the courts find justice."

• In New York, more than 10,000 rescue personnel rushed to the scene. The entire downtown area of Manhattan was evacuated as far north as Rockefeller Center, according to an official at an emergency command post.

I, like many of you others am both deeply surprised, and saddened by what has happened. I also have to say that there is NO justification for what has happened. BUT we also must recognise the wrongdoing that the US has done to many other countries around the world. Through WTO, through the world bank, what we are in the business of doing is going to other countries, lending them money, chraging impossible interest rates, and eventually bankrupting them. We force these nations that already hate us, into debt and poverty. What better targets for the buffoons than the world trade center. We smear the world with our imperialistic americana and exepct other nations to be more like us, what should we expect when people want to resist, and preserve their way of life.
Again let me reiterate, that this is in no way an excuse, and no im not a terrorist and i dont condone what has happened. But we also have to think about our role that brings about these kinds of tragedies, we are NOT blameless, but this shouldnt be the way conflict is resolved, or brought to lite.

Well it's good so that if someone hasn't heard what has happened yet because they are at school or work, and they come here, they will read about it here, and then they can know just about everything without having to leave this site and without having to find a TV. I personally watched the whole thing on MSNBC while it was happening because I was channel surfing at 9AM, but my computer is not in the living room. If I had not found out on TV, and I was up here at VCDHelp, I would have found out by this thread. It's good to just post it anyway...

The sad thing is on the way home from work yesterday I heard an interview with some person from the defense dept. saying that the USA needs to be on the lookout for terriost attacks. He was trying to ask congress for more money to beef up security on US bases etc. Thats great, but you can't protect the general public from these crazies. I just with there was more we could do to protect our country.

For those who need my version on interprestation, dont know if I would exactly call NYC or DC, the City of God, but sounds good none the less...2 brothers torn apart = twin towers, the fortress endures = Pentagon,not as f-cked as the WTC...the great leader = Bush, well I dont know if I would use the word GREAT with "Gee Dub", but the title does carry some mistique, and his aparent running all over the country can be mildly construed as succumbing...big city burning = from afar it seems like it is on fire...

o well Nost prolly did a lot of drugs like the rest of us & nothing like the constant sounds of fighter jets overhead.
