    Hi everyone.

    (I thought I'd post this here in hopes of grabbing anyone near this forums since off-topic have to sign in first to view..mods can move post tomorrow, thanks)

    I am stumpped! I've been riding the wave all day today in preporation of the move. The channel was slated to change from 96.3 FM to 105.9 FM at 8pm today. So, tune in and be moved.

    ..A history of mine own, below..

    I D/L'ed iTunes and some audio (streaming) recording software (though that aspect took like 4 plus hours to figure out and install and get running--to record this monumental moment in history--visit the website for more details: formaly www.wqxr.com, now www.wqxr.org

    So, while at work, I got iTunes working well with the streaming URL address (found on the above website this AM) and was listening to wqxr everything, from music to each host share their moments, good and sad and so on and so forth till about 6pm when I decided to go home. Anyway. By the time I got the "recording" software working (another several hours searching via google for a freeware and easy to use package, (none seem to be, at least not for this completely inexperience streamer)) I was up and runing, and began recording various small segments (to get the hang of the software) by late 2pm or so. Lucky me, I just so happen to find the sofware suite that included a calendar feature for timed/scheduled recordings, so I set it up to record 11 plus hours so that when I got back into work the next morning, I would have a big fat (mp3) audio file waiting for me or still recording, depending on when I would get into work. So, as I compose this post it is recording the change. I'm assuming that the URL stream address is the only thing that will not change. You see, the thought didn't occur to me till I began having trouble with the station, below. So, now naturally I'm worried because I may get nothing after 8pm, or 11 hours of nothing anyway.

    * Unfortunately, I am unable to recieve streaming audio over dialup, so I have to wait till tomorrow to hear and review anything.

    So here I am home, since 7pm and been listing to every moment when all the sudden the guy next door to me decided he wanted to play his doom9 game, a new guy that just moved in. So, every time there's an explosion, the radio statics like crazy. Damn, I hate this aptmt..I always get the weird ones that distrupts my video and/or audio signals, geesh. So here I am, fudging around with the tuning knob to get it in clear, when all the sudden, it goes blank or static. It was like the channel went dead but some 10 minutes before the 8pm switch and I could no longer tune them in. So, I headed over to the 105.9 channel and instead of wqxr there (was now well after 8pm) there was another station broadcaster, and I listed a bit and learnt that it is based in White Plains, NY. Now, I'm very confused!!

    So, my question for anyone in the New York area, particulary in the city..

    * what happened ?

    * did WQXR make the move from 96.3 FM to 105.9 FM successfully or were they the victom of prank-sters ?

    * can anyone get wqxr radio ? they were suppose to be broadcasting a live event at 8pm, even there webpage is down !

    * or, am I missing something ? because I can't find any clasical music station anywhere near that channel

    Thank you,
