  1. I downloaded a trailer from the Quicktime web site and I can't get it to convert properly. It does a fine job with the video but there is no sound. I tried using my full version of Quicktime to export the video as an AVI but it says the video doesn't suport saving. If anyone knows how I can extract the audio from the clip to use seperately in TMPEG I would be very appreciative. Thanks.

  2. "To convert from QuickTime MOV videos you must download the QTReader.vfp and copy it to the TMPGEnc folder."

  3. I tried that first but the converted video has no sound. I need a way to get the sound from the Quicktime file into a seperate file maybe?

  4. Do a search first. I know this has been answered before.

Extract the video and audio tracks seperately.

    Load each into TMPGEnc.

    Encode.

If you can not export tracks you do not have Quicktime Pro or use Dumpster to take the protection off.

One thing that everybody seems to ignore is the volume setting!!!!!!!

No, not the one on the main Quicktime window, the one that is accessible by going to "Get Movie Properties" from the Movie menu or pressing Ctrl+J and choosing Soundtrack in the lefthand dropbox and Volume in the righthand dropbox. If the volume here is not set to 100 then the soundtrack is turned off regardless of the main volume controls setting likewise the Soundtrack must be enabled (check by choosing "Enable Tracks" from the edit menu and make sure Soundtrack is set to ON).

It sounds obvious but I have never seen this mentioned on VCDhelp.com anyhwere.
