    I have been struggling to get reliable operation from my SONY
    RW DW-U10A. Now, whenever I insert a DVD+RW disk the light on the drive goes on, the hard disk light goes on and everything stops. requiring hitting the reset button.
    Has anyone seen this behaviour before? Does it mean I have a faulty drive? (I seem to be able to handle CD-Rs ok.)

    When I first got the kit this only happened if I rebooted with a disk in the machine, now it is all the time.

    or your disk is faulty.
