  1. I use DVD Decrypter to rip DVDs on to my HD separating the video and audio into separate files so I can improve the audio or re-author.

I have purchased a new motherboard (Asus P5Q). Since I installed the new board, DVD Decrypter is not working. It freezes and does not read my devices. I have two installed - an Asus reader and an NEC burner. The message I see is "Searching for SCSI / ATAPI devices..."

Then, I cannot exit the program. I have to close out via the Task Manager.

Has anyone encountered this? I use this software all the time to rip DVDs and demux so I can re-author.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

I suggest removing DVD Decrypter and re-installing it. However, please note that DVD Decrypter was abandoned years ago by its creator. It's a very long story, but basically he was given the option of either abandoning the program and turning over the code to it or facing a potentially ruinous lawsuit, so he abandoned the program. DVD Decrypter cannot decrypt some (mostly region 1) DVDs that use methods of copy protection such as ARCCOS. You could always try using something like DVDFab HD Decrypter, which is kept up to date.

  3. I tried this and it still did not work.

I need a program that will demux the DVD into separate video and audio files so I can re-author. This is the only reason I used DVD Decrypter.

    JoRodd,

You may have lost the I/O setting in DVDDecrypter. Tryin using each option until successful, believe there's three or four. Ran into this before and don't remember if I simply had to close and restarte DVDDecrypter or needed to reboot. I'll let you have fun with that part.

If you're only using unencrypted DVDs, then you should still be all set with this tool.
    Have a good one,

  5. Thanks for your reply.

The settings are limited as many of the options are grayed out. Something in my current setup is not liking DVD Decrypter.
