  1. hey,
I tried 25 pack of ACCU DVD-R from Meritline hopping for good luck but got none. Every disc i burned was completely pixelated in DVD-ROM, DVD burner and all set top boxes. I am thinking of trying Ritek from Meritline or ATdiscount.com. anybody have good or bad stories regarding those retailers or media. Any other media suggestions? I am looking for reliable media mainly for video. Thanks

  2. 1. Try some search.

    2. How did you burn them ? At 2x or 1x ? If 2x ... try 1x. I had same issue.

    3. Look here SONY DRU-500A Detail media report

  3. Yeah, the ACCUs all pixelated for me too in my players (but not on my PC DVD-ROM).

Try the Memorex DVD+R (not the DVD-R). If they work for you, they're at Bestbuy, $99 for pack of 50).

  4. Why not the DVD-r memorex in the dru500a?
    I have a 500a and I think my player won't use dvd+r, but reads
    the DVD-r fine.

  5. I have had good luck (100%) with Memorex DVD+R. For some reason, the Memorex DVD-R I have tried failed half way through the burn (they may simply have been a bad batch). The Accu DVD-R simply pixelated on my Samsung players which may be just a Samsung issue. They reportedly work fine for others.

It's pretty clear to me that there is a lot of variability out there - what works for some won't work for others. The best you can do is when you find an inexpensive brand that works for you, stick with it. I may try the Ritek DVD+R next though, if I can find it for cheaper.

  6. I have a HP DVD200i and have used over 50 Ritek +R's and they play perfect in the below DVD players

    Daewoo 5700, 5800, 5900
    Apex 600a, 500w, 1500
    Panasonic DMR-E10, DMR-E20, DMR-E30, HR2, RA60
    Sampo 631CF
    All Sharp players
    All Akai Players
Any JVC player at Best Buy

Have not had the chance to try a Pioneer Player out yet

  7. Hey, Terra and rma155

Have you tried burning the Accu's at 1x instead of 2x.....

I was having the same problem until I burned them at 1x and now all is well??

  8. I just tried the Accus at 1x and although there was an improvement compared to burning at 2x, they still pixelate slightly in certain spots while playing on my Samsungs. It may because they are DVD-R. I'm going to test cheap DVD+R next. I'll try to find cheap Ritek DVD+R.
