In wot player u getting the delay? WMP or your DVD player?, if its the DVD player then u may need to mess around with sound delays to get it right. My DVD player requires a time delay of 500ms for mpeg1 but none for mpeg2. Where did u get the figure 160 -180ms from? Trial and error or some prog?

  3. Thanks for replying.

I have captured from dvd without audio/video synchrone and the result was OK within WMP. After encoding with TMPGEnc there is an audio shifting in the same WMP so I checked the avi in virtualdub and here I see also that audio shifting.

So the problem is not TMPGEnc but the capture manner that I used (without audio/video synchrone). Infact TMPGEnc did is job verry well.

I'm using now vdub as frame server to resync. the movie with an negative time-delay to solve my problem, and works very well also.

My reasson to capture without audio/video synchrone is becausse I use an older PC (P2 400Mhz W2k). Without the sync. I can capture without one framedrop in full RGB24 color. But after than I need to correct the sync.
All by all this is a good HQ-capture alternative when using slower PC's or when you have problems with framedropping by VHS-capturing.
