  1. I'm trying to burn a DIVX 5 .AVI to vcd, but Nero (5.5.10) keeps telling me it's an unsupported fileformat.

Does anyone have an idea how to do this, or another program that DOES support DIVX 5 .AVI's ?

DivX isn't a valid VCD format, you need to encode your AVI to Mpeg 1 to burn as VCD. Use TMPGEnc (see Tools section on your left) to encode to Mpeg 1 and then burn with Nero as VCD.

  4. I put this in another thread yesterday but that's at the bottom of the list right now. I would recommend AGAINST using Nero to encode your files to MPEG. Just use it to burn the disc or the BIN/CUE file. Nero is VERY slow and poor in quality for converting to mpeg. You'll be there all damn night waiting for it to get done.

  5. I have installed the codecs, that's not the problem. I can view the files with for example WMP. Guess I have to wait for a NERO update that DOES support DIVX 5.

Take other peoples advise and use TMPGEnc to encode. It is free for mpeg1, and creates vety good quality mpegs. The same cannot be said for nero's encoder.

Use nero for burning and TMPGEnc for encoding.
