Yes, you will lose quality. But try avi recomp and make it a bit bigger and you wont lose that much quality.
Or you can try use fourcc avi changer and change it to div4 and it might work without any reconversion. -
AVIRecomp worked but I'm curious...why this instead of just VirtualDub? Either way...obliged

AviRecomp prevents you from using setting which may not work on your player. VirtualDub will work too, of course, but it won't prevent you from using settings which may not work on your player.
