  1. when I use tmpgenc it will encodes up to 50% (or less) then shutdowns my pc, how can I prevent this or better cure it?

I tried to use different encoder like Avi2Vcd but it still shut downs like TMPGEnc. Only Panasonic MPEG1 encoder works but it takes 2 1/2 hours to encode one 24 minute movie, too long T_T

here is the list of hardware that I use on my pc:
    ASUS v266 w/ over-heat protection (DDRRam)
    AMD Athlon XP 2.5 GHz
    GeForce 4 Ti4600
    512 mb Kingstone DDRRam

please if anyone knows how to fix this problem, help me, I've been trying to fix it for months now but I still haven't done it.

Is sound like your cpu is overheating and is then shutting down as a safety measure. Use a program like CPUCool to see what temperature it is running at.

  3. agree with InnerShield. It's likely overheating.

I guess a down-and-dirty fix would be to open up your case and setup a fan blowing directly in there.

but how to I clean the chips inside the pc because if I open it, the dusts will come in. Will I just use a strong blower?
and also will my pc get easily affected by moist and stuff when I open it?
by the way, happy new year in advance ^_^
