Is it worth having a seperate DVD reader to rip movies with?
I was looking at two liteon readers LTD-165 and LTD-166, does anyone know the difference of these two drives?

I think the 166 is just a newer version of the 165. I have the 166 and think it rocks.

So when I get the Sony DRU-500a do you think its worth getting a DVD reader as well for ripping DVD-Video??
Does anyone here know the speed of the Sony DRU-500a at ripping DVD-Video? -
BarryHL,
I have a DRU-500A and it will rip store bought DVDs at only at 2x. With 1.0f F/W it will rip DVD+/-R/RW at 4x.
Get a seperate DVD reader for faster ripping.
Dave
