  1. i`m trying to make a vcd of a film i downloaded but it took 2hrs and 20mins for nero to decode it and then promptly locked up on me? anyone know of better way of burning or faster prog for encoding before burning?
any tips would be very helpful. have put films on cd before without the problem of long encoding times(usually only taken 10 mins max to encode),.

Nero is not a good way to encode to mpg. I use TMPGEnc to encode AVI to MPEG 1 and 2. You can find it in the tools section to your left.
May the force be with you.
