I am trying to make the anime mpeg I ripped fit on my normal-sized TV. It seems like its bigger than the screen still by just a little bit, and it is shifted like two inches to the right. I thought it may be the setting on my DVD player because it has left-right video shift feature, but I maxed that out to compensate, to no avail. It looks great when I throw the mpeg into virtual dub as far as centering, so I'm at a loss. Here's what I'm using...

SMARTRIPPER

DVD2AVI
-32 bit MMX -no field operation -YUV colorspace -TV Scale

TMPGEnc
creating: Video CD NTSC FILM MPEG 1 352x240 23.976fps 1150kbps
source: -interlaced -Top field first -aspect ratio 4:3 525 line NTSC 704x480
video arrange method: full screen
IVTC deinterlace even field animation adaptation
24 fps non-interlace source
GOP 1,5,2---Detect scene change
Use floating point DTC----soften block noise 35,35

I really like my audio, so I left those settings out. I'm getting pretty smooth animation due to the IVTC, no frame hiccups at least. I would be most grateful if anyone uses these programs in a similar way to encode anime DVD rips and would like to give me some pointers on the settings I'm using. I use these settings to do non-widescreen animes. I think that I may need to change video arrange method to 'full screen (keep aspect ratio)' instead of just 'full screen', but I'm getting tired of trial and error---it takes way too long!! All advice is appreciated, thank you!
