Problems using nero and sony500a

It burns correvtly but sometimes nero don't think it is finish burning and I have to reboot to get the disc out. The disc is fine but it's annoying to reboot everytime you burn a dvd-r. Any one have the same problem or any soulution to the problem?

Now I think it's the media because it started when i got some riteks G03 1x which burns at 2x with the new firmware. I'm just trying to find the cause by narrowing down what is different when i upgraded the firmware.

Are you sure that burning finished ??? I had some Rite/Accu G03 media that Nero was thinking that they are 2x but they were 1x and it took alost an hour to burn.

I'm sure that it finish burning. I backup a ps2 game and finish burning a 4 gig file in less than 30 mins, so I'm sure it's burning at 2x. You can see that it is at 100% and it finish the leadout. After the ok thingy didn't popup and have to restart the computer in order to take out the disc. The disc plays fine on a ps2 it's just annoying to restart the computer every time I burning something. Gonna reinstall the firmaware and trying it at 1x to see i this happens again....

This problem only happens with certain disks ,eg bulqpaq gen 3 purple top, you may also find that the disk can't be read after you restart your pc by the sony drive but reads ok in other dvd rom's or playstation etc. There is no problem at all with datasafe classic disks.
I think the problem is definitly to do with the quality of disks but may be a future version of nero might cure it too.

Thanks for the info....It's good to hear it's the disc and not the sony writer, but I hope they can fix it soon gonna use other programs to burn for the moment.....

Any good suggestion on what burning program will make dvd copy and dvd videos?

I ordered 25 of these and have only managed to burn 7-8 coasters (writing fails @ 15-25%). Have you really burned a working DVD with DRU500A @ Bulkpaq gen 3?

I've tried to burn video with DVDDecrypter (with original 1.0c firmware+1.0d fw), Nero 5.5.9.17 (1.0 c,d,f fw) and RecordNow (1.0d fw) and data DVDs with Nero 5.5.9.17 (1.0 d,f fw). Most other media works ok.
