Apparently there is some size limitation in QT so that QT will not correctly play back files > 4GB (maybe just mpg's)? Does anyone know if this is a bug that Apple will fix, or is it a "feature"?
If I try to export a > 4GB mpg from QT to something like a DV stream, will it export correctly?

yep, apple did that with quicktime to keep people from doing exactly what we are trying to do. what you can do is rip the dvd file or what ever file your trying to reencode into peices that are 2GB or less, or use extractor to split it into pieces and then quicktime will play them. if you are reencoding an mpeg2 file then you can use extractor to rejion them into one.

i know there is a ~4 gig limitation bug, but i don't know if apple intentionally put it in to prevent us from doing things, do you have any actual proof that apple did it on purpose?

Over thinking, over analyzing separates the body from the mind. Withering my intuition leaving all these opportunities behind.
