I have loaded a .avi file in Virtual Dub 1.4.12 and when i come to save the .wav file I get the following error messages on certain files.
The requested audio compression is not compatible with the input format. Check the sample rate and channel count of the input match those of the requested format.
This does not occur with all .avi files but only on particular ones.
Can someone please direct me to a solution.

It sounds like AC3 for sound (unknown tag 2000). Use this guide to deal with it.

In fact you are right .. it's due to AC3. I have followed the steps and managed to create the .wav file. It took around 45 mins to create though (running Athlon 1800 XP).
Thanks
