  1. I have my entire video on the timeline and I want to cut sections of certain clips and insert them into various other places....does anyone know how to do this? I used the razor and cut the section I wanted but then only the video was copied. When I tried to insert it, it just crammed in over top of existing video instead of inserting....

    anyone?

    thanx!

I sent you a private message?

Anyway you should be able to drag the clip youve razored along the timeline to the right to open up a gap big enough to let the new one in. Are you using single or A/B edit mode. A/B is much easier for beginners

  7. No, I didn't get it. Yeah, I'm using a/b editing. Do I need to make a gap big enuf for the clip? or can I just pick the clip and then use the insert command and put it where I want.
    thanx for your help

Set the timeline to seconds or minutes(do you know how)if you know how long your clip is then just open up that amount of space, you can drag it back together anyway. Just drag your clips past each other how ever long you want the transition to be and insert the transition selected. Bingo!

  9. ok, I knew how to do all that. I've already created one vid. This is my second and I wanna get fancier. I thought there was a command to just insert the clip into any opening thereby pushing the proceding clip further down the timeline along with anything after it. The way you mentioned is what I've been doing and it seems really tedious....b/c I then have to drag every clip after the insert pt so that they are at the correct transition pt. I have multiple clips that overlap from a to b and it takes forever to drag them all. Thanx for all your help. I guess what I've been doing is the correct way.

  10. I never use the razor tool to cut section of a clip. Instead I set the mark in and mark out at the project window (double click on the video item to view the video) before dragging it over to the Timeline Window.
