When I capture/rip a movie as an AVI, I then convert it to MPEG with TMPG. Then I need to cut it so that it will fit on a VCD again using TMPG. My question is: does this degrade the quality of the MPEG? I've tried working with AVI, but the sound always gets out of sync.
