I have a stack of music videos with little end tags that I wish to get rid of, they are all either at the end or beginning of the video clip, I dont need to edit in the video clip itself. Anyway I have been searching the net and searching this forum and got to a program called MPEG2CUT which appears to be working but there is a slight pause on the final frame (no big deal, its over by then) and I cant seem to find a batch mode.

SO I tried virtualdub as I know you can set up a heap of vids and run the batch mode rather than individually.

Can I direct stream copy with just the beginning or end removed an MPEG file? I cant get it to work, needs to save i to an AVI (which would bother me if its just a container thing containing the exact same data) but it tells me 'direct stream video cannot be used with this video stream'. Somethng about incompatible algorythms.

Anyway, as im not a pro it may be something I am doing wrong or It may not be possible but can anyone helpout, can virtual dub do what im asking?

In a nutshell, cut the beginning or end without reencoding and (prays) in batch mode?

    Thanks for any help.

    Bummer, thanks for the reply.

Can anyone confirm if this following will do what im looking for (cut start or end without reencoding).

I found ULEAD VIDEO STUDIO 9 on my old XP machine, havent used it for a while, but there is an option to use 'smart rendering'.

I think this only renders changes rather than the whole video, since im only cutting from the start or end, does that mean I get exactly what im after? (except the batch encode!)

It is easy to use and doesnt create the pause I am getting with MPEG2CUT.

I think it is not rendering it again since it only takes a matter of seconds to create the file.

Anyone had any experience with this?
