  1. I would like to know which one is better to use, IF your using one or the other. Flask or DvDX to convert your files. I'm NOT sure which one to go to, and would like opinions IF you've had success or not with either.

PLUS...can you use FLASK and then NERO to burn your VCD'S? I've been having some problem with this. It tells me that I don't have a large enough medium. (But I'm using a 80 mb CD...and am burning the movie Animal House...so it should work...movie is 1hr. 40 minutes)

I don't know why NERO will tell me this.

    Thanks for your opinion.

  2. I personally like Flask and from personal experience, version 0.6 (subtitled fixed) is very reliable and mostly stable.

If you are making STANDARD VCDs (especially with the Panasonic encoder plugin), it is an excellent solution.

As for using it with Nero, the answer is yes. If you are making VCDs, FlaskMPEG just simply spits out an MPEG. You can use it with any VCD authoring/burning proggy.

If you are making STANDARD VCDs, you can fit just under 80min of video onto an 80min disc (approx. 795 MB of video). For an XVCD of some sort, then you will need to use a bitrate calculator to work out the correct bitrate to use to fit it onto the number of discs you wish to use.

I use DVDx with the LSX-mpeg plugin to make SVCD's with very good
results .I then use VCDeasy to turn the mpeg into SVCD image with chapters .
