I know it's the oldest question - which is the best codec for?.... but here I make it very specific and I'd love to hear your thoughts.

So I have my mpeg2 ts file about 20GB with 1920 x 1080p video and AC3 six channel audio. I want the maximum possible quality to store and play on my PC using WMP11, VLC or whatever - or should I just leave it as the ts file?

Leave it as a .TS file. Personally, I think VLC plays HD MPEG2 TS files quite well, even on slower computers.
