DVD ROM INSTALLATION

I have recently installed a dvd rom on my aunts computer, after installation it showed the drive in my computer but every now and again when i go into my computer it does not see it, but it does play what it should.

Any ideas on why it keeps dissapearing from my computer.

For clarification is your aunts computer and my computer the same computer or are hers and yours hooked together?

Make sure you are using latest SP1 for your XP, and also Latest IDE drivers for your mainboard, and lastly, make sure the cables are connected properly and that they are 100% operational.

So if my aunt goes back to windows 98 then this prob will stop????

Although that is most likely, I suggest you first try installing the SP1 and IDE drivers, and that might fix your problem.

Although personaly I still use 98, and I don't have half the problems others with XP and 2000 are having.
