I downloaded a video from www.launch.com.
When I try to convert it it in TMPGenc, it says
--------------------------
the resolution of this video is illegal.
window size need to beset between 8x8 40088 X 4088
width and height of window needs to be multiple of 8
------------------------------
I also tried to convert it in asftools but it won't show the picture
Any ideas?

The link is not working because there is a DOT at the end of it - edit the link deleting the DOT for it to work.
Those trying to access the site by clicking on the link please delete the last dot in the URL and ENTER again. -
I don't understand? I have no problem with the link! I'm just saying that after I download the video, I tried to convert it with TMPeng but it says that the resolution is illegal. how can i convert it?

You will need to adjust the horz. or vert. resolution of your output (either crop a little or add a small black border) so that is a multiple of 8 (just use the up/down arrows to select the next legal size).

Regarding your problem with illegal resolution - i can't help you unless you give us more details on it like - what is the resolution of your file? what resolution did you want for your output file when you load this file in TMPGEnc? didn't you choose a template for your output file? was it really ASF format?
If your TMPGEnc accepts the file initially but pops up that message when you start converting your file then do as mdm just said. Be aware though that you might just be encoding to XVCD/XSVCD if the next legal size is not VCD/SVCD standard resolution - so i would advise you to select next legal size that is VCD/SVCD (depending on what you want it to be encoded to) standard resolution.
Regards.
