  1. Hi all,

I've had good luck with my princo white unlabeled DVD-R blanks up to about 3.5 Gigs, but if I try to burn anything beyond that I get coasters... anyone have any ideas as to what could be causing this?

    Thanks for any help!

Do you have the same result with other media, or just the princos?

If it's just the princo's the I'll say you got a bad batch, or just out of luck. Sony only supports media from 2 or 3 manufactureres and princo's are not one of them.

This is a common problem with lower quality media.

    1) Can't use the outer parts of the disc (Try to stick to about 3 GBs or less)
    2) Can't use high bitrates (Better to stick under about 5 MBps)

Like the others have said, I'd just buy new media and use your current ones for temporary test discs, etc.

  5. Just wanted to let you all know you were right. I got my Accu media from Meritline today and it works like a charm all the way up to 4.7gb. Thanks everyone! The DRU-500 will rock when it gets more software support and people figure out the medias that work.

  6. Hey, which format from Accu, may buy them is they work. And did they include the plastic cases too with the order? Has anyone tried their sampler for varying formats yet for 19.95?

    +R
    -RW
    +RW

I forgot, were you able to burn at 2x with the Accu media?

  7. The discs I am using are from Meritline... click here to check them out. They are DVD-R and as far as I can tell they only burn at 1X, although a disc that burns sucessfully at 1X is better than a 2X coaster. I'll be buying 100 of these as soon as I can save more pennies... right now the 50 should last a while.

    Thanks for everyone's help
