Hello,
I recently downloaded some vcd videos of live performances. They are all in NTSC format and I shall convert them all to PAL with TMPGenc (on PC) after I edit them. The edit work I'm doing on them is quite simple: I'm adding a fade-in/fade-out effect at the begining of the video and at the end so that the transitions between tracks are smooth. At the very beginging of the video Im also putting a 10 second black screen with white letters with the identification of the video. This information screen (that comes right before the actual video of the performance fades in) was created on Flash and from there exported as a mov file. I later imported it to Premiere (Macintosh) and edited the time line so that all the transitions were smooth.
My question is: I have an NTSC source file (already vcd compatible) and I want to edit it on Premiere. What are the properties of the new file I must create before I import both my information mov file and the performance video? Shall I make it a PAL file from the begining or create an NTSC file and convert with TMPGenc when all the edit is done? Can anyone tell me the properties of the file I must create on Premiere (frame rate, frame size, audio, and export informations). Also, is there a way in Premiere to export a toast vcd file (maybe with a plug-in)?
Thank you!

everyone seriously needs to get out of this tmpeg vpc mindset.. that is why we have failed to move forward in the scene as horribly as we have, everyone is willing to give up and use some program in VPC at probably 1/10th of the speed they would get from a quality mac program. Are you using os 9 or X, if you are using 9 i guess i could understand the plight b/c there is no good software for 9.. .if you are running 9 and your machine can support it i strongly advise you to upload to 10.1 or 10.2 if you can, if will make your life ALOT easier in MANY ways., if you are already using X say so and i'll try to give further advice

Hi
Im using 9, but Im thinking of upgrading to X cause my mac can support it for sure (Im running a G4 733). I never did myself cause I dont really know how to upgrade it (the computer came with the software but they didnt install it otherwise it would be easy cause I know you can switch between the two). I hope its easy cause Im really thinking of doing that. will I loose all the information I have on my hard-drive? Is it hard to do? If someone can point a site or something on how to upgrade it to X please let me know!
Still, I think Premiere is a hell of a good editor. I only need the informations on how to create a new file (frame rate, frame size, compressor, export options, ect) so that my video wont loose any quality. -
Ok, I've already installed OSX, seems all quite big to me and things moved a lot but its ok!
