Okay I am using the DVD-VCD guide found here at VCD-Help as I am trying to put a VCD onto a DVD. Everytime I de-multiplex the .dat file so that I have the avseq01.m1v and avseq01.mp2, what I notice is that both files are always a maximum of 39m:54s. And since clearly no film is this length - I dont seem to understand why I get this restriction. It seems to happen on all the .dat files I de-multiplex?
I am extracting the dat files from a bin/cue format and i am using VCDGear to do the extraction.
Can anyone explain why I'm being limited to under 40mins with the .m1v & mp2 files? I am following the DVD-VCD guide as is written![]()

i guess my question first is why bother to put a vcd on a dvd disk ... waste of a perfect dvd disk.
how are you determing the lenth ?
what is the size of the file? that should determine how long a file it is .. -
The reason I am putting VCD on a DVD-R is simple. I get DVD-Rs for free because of my contacts.
I get the latest movie releases (group) and dont wanna change the VCD halfway thru, so I want to put the one film on a DVD so that I can watch it continously.
When I play the m1v or mp2 file both show the length of time through WMP as 39:54. I also notice that the .dat file may be 700MB, when de-multiplexed, the m1v file is now only like 360MB. So both the actual playing length and file size seem to be corresponding with each other.
I use VCDgear as it is usually the best bet for successfully extracting a dat file from a bin/cue setup.
