  1. I tried to use dvd2avi but I could not create an AVI file. Also if this possible to get it into AVI file, I want to use DVD workshop or pinnancle express to take the AVI and let it do the magic to encode and burn for me to get it on a DVD.

    let me get this right - you want to take a dvd , convert it to avi , and then encode it BACK to mpeg2 and burn it again on dvd ?
    why not just rip the dvd and and re-author it and burn it back on dvd ? or a bunch of other ways published here on copy dvd to dvd-r

  3. I am having touble after the rip stuff. I am just lazzy, when I capture to my hd to AVI file from my capture card. I then take the avi file and put into express to encode and burn. After about 24 hours I am done.

    If you can give me another suguestions I would appreciate it. I was using smartripper then DVD2AVI ....

    I am trying to do American Pie the collectors edition 95 minutes long if anybody has done it can you give me help I am a newbie.

    Let's see... converting a 95 minute film to AVI will be 95min x 24fps x 1MB/frame ~ 137MEGABYTES of needed storage. Also, you better set aside about a week for the encoding process.

    Yes, I agree with you... you are lazy. Try being a little "less" lazy and reading the guides here. They will "guide" you through the process to your desired goal.
