  2. I have used the following technique when doing final Authoring with DVDit (Some other authoring progs do not accept the resulting mpegs)

(This is from memory so I hope its right)
Extract the audio with virtualdub, convert to 48Khz wav file whatever way you wish.

In TmpGenc, select your divx as video, select the video only radio button. Load the DVD (NTSC) template. Load unlock.mcf and click settings.

On the video tab, select frame rate as 23.97fps
On the advanced tab, ensure 3:2 pulldown is NOT ticked.
On the GOP structure tab, ensure "number of pictures in P frame" is 4

    Encode.

Now take your .m2v file and run it throught pulldown.exe (might be in the tools section, if not try google)

this will give you another .m2v file with the relevant 3:2 pulldown flags set for 29.97fps playback.

Now use this .m2v file and the wav file for audio in DVDiT or MyDvd and author as normal.

    This works for me.

I also use Dazzle DVD complete to author. For this, In Tmpgenc, load DVD NTSC template, load unlock.mcf. Change nothing except on advanced tab where 3:2 pulldown MUST be checked (for NTSC film source). Encode and author.

If you have a different authoring proggy and neither of these work for you ask again, I am sure some one can help.

Let me know how you get on.
