  1. I am attempting to capture video via my DVC 200. When I capture as an MPEG2 file - when the file gets to about 3.6GB it automatically stops and starts another file. How can I get it to just make one big file. Is it my software? Or is this just a limitation I'm stuck with? I am using WIN Xp and NTFS.

  4. Not familiar with your software, but many have a setting for maximum file size, check for this buried in some settings menu and set it to maximum drive space to use. Also, check the manufacturer's website for an upgrade or patch.

  5. Sorry... software is Moviestar 5. Could someone please refer me to a piece of software that will allow me to capture files larger than 4GB (That won't automatically start a new file).

  9. I tried to use Video Studio 4 with my DVC1 and it crashed like a flying pig. Heck, I think it would have run faster if I had simply chunked it across the room. Now, I do remember that in DVC1 with an older version of MovieStar you could specify file size. That might be the culprit, but it could also be a bug.

Incidentily, MovieStar 5 was written specifically to run with XP and 2000. Few new hardware products are not... hmmm... This is a poser.

Yeah, with DV. Were talking MPEG-1 & 2 caps through it. I got it to cap DV just fine. Using my DVC1 (which is a MPEG-1 capturer through the USB port) was entirely different story. So that option is out unless Ulead AND Dazzle colaborated on this to cap using VS5... Anywhoo, glad that you are able to cap DV using VS5.
