I open the program to make a VCD and I add my MPG it says it is not a compliant MPEG file.

I really want to add chapters and it's really frustrating.

Also, Sefy's Ultimate Newbie DVD Conversion Guide v1.9 page of this site, it says to right-click on the popup menu:

"3a) Here you can select to import the Chapters for your movie, Right Click to get the popup menu."

I don't see where I'm supposed to right click. Help me, please.

    Thanks,
    Nick

  2. Yes, for some dumb reason Ulead does not support mpeg-1 files as a DVD format. There is another DVD authoring program (can't remember the name) that does support mpeg-1 video, BUT does not support mpeg audio! You can't have it all...

  3. What are the specs (bitrate, resolution) of the mpeg-1 that Ulead says isn't VCD-compliant?
As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war."

  5. I have the same problem. Try using this program MPEG Corrector you can find it by ckicking on Tools on the left. under Repair/Converters.

  6. Perhaps it doesn't like the NTSC Film framerate (I never tried that, so I'm not sure).

The reason that ULead is bitching is because your audio is not DVD compliant.

In your case, your audio is encodes at 44.1 Hz, thats VCD standard, not DVD.

    DVD's require 48 Hz

  8. The reason its not taking your mepg1 ntsc file is that 23.976 is frame rate for PAL. And 29.97 is the FR for NTSC get the right frame rate and it will work

    What ?!?

23.976 Is indeed a valid NTSC frame rate, so is 29.97. PAL is 25 fps.
