Hello, i hope someone can help with this odd problem.
I have 17 different Mpeg files i want to burn to DVD. I converted all the files with the SUPER program to Mpeg1, Audio MP3. I opened up Ulead Movie Factory 3.5, imported all the files into the program. The accumulated file size is 4.10 GB. But the time size is over 4 hours. So just before i started to burn the DVD i noticed the woking folder needed to be only 3.8 GB (i thought that was odd) Usually the working folder is much bigger. So after many hours of converting and burning etc.... an error occured saying something about not enough disc space. Well i had over 15 GB to play with so this is odd. I hope someone can help with this little issue. Here is an example of one of the files. that may help. Thanks!!!

You can't use MP3 audio with a DVD. Your Ulead program may have converted them to WAV or PCM audio, which will be much larger. Convert the audio to AC3 or MP2 and that may fix the problem. For the DVD specs, see 'WHAT IS' DVD to the upper left on this page.

If you use SUPER to encode to MPEG-1, why not have SUPER encode to MPEG-2 with AC3 audio?

I tried AC3 before on some other file and Ulead Movie Factory wouldn't accept it for some reason. I will try converting to MP2 as see if that works. Thanks.

So after many hours of converting and burning etc....
Sounds to me as if MF is converting your video . If the file you generated in Super is DVD compatible using the "do not convert compliant files" option should leave the files as is and greatly speed up the process. Suggest you look it up in the manual.

Add to that why not just import your MPEG's into MF, set the bitrate appropiately and let it convert the files?

As far as AC3 goes that's quite an old version and may not support it.
