I recently picked up a PioneerA05 <repackaged as a Cyndyne) it came bundled with Nero Express 5.5.9.16. I installed the software but when I attempted to burn something ... uhm how can I explain this ... ok ... the drive sounded like the cd was spinning but then it abruptly stops then tries again. It just does this over and over and the program freaks out.
I thought I botched something while installing the drive but when I attempted to burn something with the audio burner via Windows Media Player It burnt without a problem ...
any help would be greatly appriciated ...
Brian

I had the same prob with my Cendyne dvr-105.
Upgrading to the latest version of Nero Express, which is .17 I believe, solved the weird 'spin cycle'....
On a related note, it also helped CDR burning, as far as starting quicker (as opposed to waiting about 30secs for the burn to start, it now starts in about 10 or so). Really odd, since when I use CloneCD the burns start immediately...
