A little bit ago i purchaced a Daewoo DVD-5800 and it worked fine with my 27" Zenith TV (from about 1988), but now that I try it on my Sony 32" TV (from about 1997) it flashes black and white to color at a rate of about 4 changes per second, is there anything that i can do about this problem? is it regional settings? By the way I am using composite cables out of the back of the player, i've tried a RF modulator, and running it through the VCR, and directly to the back of the TV, all unsuccessful attempts to make the problem stop

    Thank you for your help

It sounds like a problem with Macrovision settings (my TV has the same problem)

Macrovision is a copy protection scheme, that most videos and DVDS employ to stop people making copies of them (DVD to video, video to video, etc)

While 95% of TV's will handle Macrovision fine, the other 5% will make it look like you're viewing a copy whcih hasn't been fixed.

I solved the problem by buying a Video Enhancer/Stablisaer. it strips out the Macrovision signal from a DVD or Video, and delivers a clean picture to the TV

Before, I'd get black and white/colour flashes, an unstable picture, and it looked dreadful.. now it's fine. HEad over to the DVD hacks section, and see if you can find something to remove Macrovision on your DVD player, or invest in an enhancer.... you can pick then up in australia for as little as $30... might be the only way to go.

    Good Luck!
