Hi everyone, I was wondering if you knew of software that does this specific effect..

ok, theres a girl walking in the forest; the video is in black in white, but I see red rose petals flying in full color; do you know how thats done or what to use to make that happen?

Thanks in advance for any info on that.

Any number of video editors or compositing apps could do this (I'd probably use AfterEffects), but this requires lots of painstaking effort to isolate the elements of interest, and either removing the color from the other stuff, or removing color from everything and adding color back to the item of interest manually.

No such thing as a simple app or plugin with one-button fixup...

Wrigley Video (wrigleyvideo.com) has a tutorial for doing this in Premiere : http://wrigleyvideo.com/videotutorial/tutdes_colorpass.htm

I suspect that this will only work well in very specific circumstances, but it may give you an idea on how to proceed.
