Only get Black and White picture

Hi,

I have a FlyVideo 98 card, and I'm using a SCART->S-VHS cable to capture from my VCR. Most of the time I can only get a black and white picture out of it. The one exception is in the W98 software MyTV, when I select the "High Quality" option on the TV Panel I get a colour picture. The reason I can't just use this programme is that I'd rather use Linux. Does anyone know what this option does, or what an equivalent option in another programme may be called?

i think you have a PAL/NTSC issues, but I am not sure. This happens to some of my vcd's
