  1. I capture alot from tv in avi with virtualdub after that i convert it with TMPGEnc to mpg1 then i cut all the crap out then i put it all together again.
Now i can burn this to vcd using nero it wil say its not standard but if i skip that and burn it annyway it works just fine but if i reincode it and then burn it with nero i wont say annything and its smaller now my question is do i allways have to reincode mpg files that have being cut and join ! the are smaller and nero dont complain but is there a faster way to this...

  2. You want to do your cutting before you do your encoding. Open your AVI file in virtual dub then select the start and end point of the bits you want to cut out, adverts etc, then press the delete button. That portion of video is then removed from the timeline, although it is still there in the AVI file. Then frameserve to TMPGEnc, your mpeg will be created with the adverts removed. Much quicker way of doing it an no need to cut and merge your mpegs, which I find can give an annoying pop sound at the point of the merge.
