  1. I could need some help with this little problem; sometimes when I burn a VCD everything looks just fine but when I play it in my DVD-player the picture is black and white. In my computer it seems fine with colours and everything. How can i possibly check this before burning (since everything looks Ok on the computerscreen)?
Note: When I download these movies they are already in MPEG-format. Don't have this problem when I'm converting from scratch

    Thanks

It sounds like a pal/ntsc problem. what format was the mpeg file in? and what is the format of your tv and dvd player?

  3. If you start TMPGEnc (at least 2.54) and load the mpeg as your source when you hit the settings button and look on the video tab, it will tell you if it is 25fps (PAL - not usually playable on American TVs), 23.976 fps (NTSCfilm - US standard for film), or 29.976 fps (NTSC - standard for video).
If it is PAL then you can check out a recent post of mine on a similar problem > http://forum.vcdhelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=90877&highlight=

And if it's not, then some overanxious Movie Backup Technician uploaded w/out checking it first. But since that probably has never happened, I'm betting that it's in PAL format. You might want to search the forum for an easier post, though. My post turned out a little wordy in the end.
