Right now I am encoding Dumb and Dumber from .Avi to .MPG using TMPGEnc. It is only up to 3% and it's been running for 3 minutes already. The movie is about 80 minutes long. Is it supposed to take that long or am I doing something wrong?

the faster your processor, the faster the encoding.

Ummmmm, by my calculations 3% of 80 is 2.4 - 3 min. to encode 2.4 min is almost realtime!
