I have a Quad Core 2.4 Intel Pentium Processor, Asus P5KC Motherboard, 4 gigs Kingston pc6400 800mhz ram, ATI Radeon x2600pro 512mb, I am using Premiere Pro 2.0 for editing, The problem I am running into is when I export to DVD. I was working a project 30minutes in lengh and when I export to dvd the encoding takes about 15 hours... I would like to know if this is normal???? it is a large project but Im not sure it should take this long. Can anyone offer suggestions on what I can do to speed up the process.....

    Thank You...

So, if I understand you correctly, you've got a 30 minute video that's taking 15 hours to encode? You probably also need to tell what format your original video is in.

In my opinion, something's wrong somewhere. I routinely reencode 45 minute AVI (DIVX) clips to full resolution DVD spec with a two-pass encode in one hour and 20 minutes on much less computer than you've got.

Are you using an encoder in Premier Pro?

what format is the original video and what are you doing other than encoding to mpeg-2?

a normal 30 minute dvavi to mpeg-2 encode on a cpu like yours should take about 5-6 minutes. i have the same cpu.
