  1. I am having trouble with a DVD rip. Once ripped, then using DVD2AVI to frameserve into TMPGEnc I am not getting any usable sound formats for TMPGEnc to use. DVD2AVI shows the audio format as DTS and shows that it is doing "something" with the audio stream, like it is processing the .wav, only there is no .wav in the directory that I am saving the files to that TMPGEnc can use.

I have noticed this on a few movies with DTS sound. Does anyone have any clue how to get the audio stream from the ripped .vob files?

  2. Ok

DTS cannot be decoded to wav or anyother format, it can only be extracted.

I use vobrator to extract. You get a DTS file and a m2v file.

  3. Sefy says the new DVD2AVI is supposed to support DTS format now, anyone know where to get the new one at? I checked their website, did not see the new DVD2AVI there, only the one I have now.

  4. Yeah it does (only extraction though) but its the unofficial version though.

I think the official is 1.76 (does not have it)

Anyway here is a link for 1.86

  5. Thanks man, I will try this real quick to see if it does anything. I re-ripped the DVD again, this time trying to pull the 5.1 surrond audio out, only got the same thing. Not sure why though, as I chose the 5.1 instead of the DTS.

Will let you know if that helps, all tips help, hopefully this will solve my problem.

  6. Ok no probs.

You could also try smartrippers stream processing to extract the video and audio seperately.

  7. I would recommand you to find the AC3 sound track, it's usually included also on the DVD, it would save you alot of trouble.
