Hi all. I encoded a file with cce sp using the 3 pas vbr and found that the audio track is separated using this function. I want to author the file with dvdit but do not know how to "join" the audio file back to the video. Can cce encode this way and not separate the audio/video? Thanks.

I don't use CCE personally, tried it but could never get it to work properly! Anyway, reading these forums I think the general consensus is that it should not be used for audio. For your problem I suggest seperating the audio from the .avi file using virtualdub, re-sample to 48khz (if required) - (see guides for info on doing this). Then, in DVDit, add your new .wav file to the same panel as you add the movie then simply drag the wav file icon over the 'movie1' panel and it will add the audio to the video. Test, author and burn.
Hope this helps -
You don't say what your source was, or whether or not you are frameserving to CCE, but here are some suggestions:
1) Use DVD2AVI to strip out your audio. Audio for DVD has to be 48kbps, so if it is not, then you'll have to convert it.
2) Don't use CCE audio at all. And, a CCE encode will result in a .M2V file, which is an elementry video stream.
3) Use TMPG's MPEG TOOLS to do a simple multiplex (the 48kbps audio with the new .M2V file). This will give you the .MPG file that you want. DVDit should have no problem with this file.
