  1. I just downloaded a video I was wishing to put onto VCD, but as the track is playing, there is this continuous 'eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee' high pitched sound, like an audible dog whistle. I was just wondering if there is any way to get rid of this annoying noise?!? Thanx

search the forum for "hiss" --it's a different noise, but the solution you'll find should work the same way

  3. Not to tread on your post but I am also having a similar problem.

But my rip didnt come from a DVD or professinal recording.. Apperntly the person that took this video had the mics to close to the ppl's mouths (or used extremely cheap mics) and I get a screach when people say words that start with S or anything like that.

I searched the forums for "hiss" and none of those would really help to solve my problem. Anyone got any ideas how I can "normalize" my audio? I have to make sure that it doesnt actually touch the video itself, it has to be the same exact length and the people have to say the same words at the same time.. if that makes any sense

    thanks

I'm not sure if it will help, but you can try extracting your wav with virtual dub, and then encoding the audio using BeSweet/GUI--look through the different tabs(ssrc, toolame) and there are some options for normalization, and other things that may help.
