What audio format are they? If it's AC3 5.1 audio, the center channel may not be working properly with your player. That's where the voice tracks mainly are, AFAIK. If it was down mixed from 5.1 to stereo, they may have done a lousy job. In that case, there's not a lot you can do because any level increase will also raise the music, etc., levels.

You can drop one into Gspot 2.70 to see the audio formats, or most software players will tell you the audio format.

If they are 5.1 and the low level is because of the file, not your player, then someone else will have to help you on increasing the center levels, I haven't tried that.

This DD forum suggests installing an ac3 codec.

    http://forum.digital-digest.com/archive/index.php/t-51245.html

    The "Compression Unknown(tag 2000) " means ac3 audio.

Also here: http://www.free-codecs.com/download/AC3_Filter.htm gives the same suggestion.

If you installed Perian you must choose a pref from the "A52preferences" setup.
It allows you to force stereo output from 5 channels if your computer doesn't have 5 channel ouput.

If you installed Perian, go back find the folder with the codec, readme file and A52preferences file. Double click the A52preferences and set it properly.
