    Hey guys,

So i am editing a documentary and at some point i needed a close up picture. So i zoomed in(scale up) to that part of the story. But i am not sure if when i scale up, that part of the video will be too low resolution. And i can't know without exporting it and watching it.

Is there a way to know how it will look after the export, before exporting?

  2. Most NLEs give you the option of a full quality preview, which may or may not play in real time. It can give you a good general idea.

You can also export short test clips -- again, to give yourself a good idea of what the final will look like.

Without knowing what software you are using, or what your compression settings are, it's hard to be more specific.

  4. You can change the preview quality and scale in the premiere pro program monitor, and preview codec in premiere sequence settings

That doesn't necessarily reflect what you get when physically exporting, because when you export you might be using a lossy codec, with certain settings - but at least it will give you a rough idea. Also, preview quality scaling isn't necessarily the same as export quality scaling. For example, when you have MRQ enabled on export, a slightly different scaling algorithm is used. So the final quality might be higher or lower depending on several factors

Another option is to export only a small section to preview, using the settings you would be using on final render
